Terapeak and WorthPoint launch Terapeak Collectibles!

We told you a couple weeks ago we were in the final stages of testing, and now the big day is here…

Terapeak Collectibles is live!

Available exclusively via eBay’s Selling Manager Applications platform, Terapeak Collectibles is a brand new application that allows users to research antiques and collectibles data mined from eBay, other online marketplaces, and real-life auction houses. We’ve partnered with a company called WorthPoint, whose “Worthopedia” database houses data from more than 10 years of live and online auctions — and that entire database is available with each Terapeak Collectibles search!

With antiques and collectibles such a specialized selling field — that is, pricing can be difficult on rare items that don’t frequently sell — we think Terapeak Collectibles is a perfect solution for those who need a more expansive antiques and collectibles database.

To access Terapeak Collectibles (there’s even a 7-day free trial available), you must first be subscribed to eBay Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro. You can then add the application at this link.

Terapeak launches free keyword tool on Selling Manager Applications

Some more exciting news out of Terapeak-land this week!

On Monday, we launched Terapeak Keywords, a free application available exclusively on the eBay Selling Manager platform. It works much like a simplified version of our Title Builder tool, which Terapeak subscribers should already be familiar with. We’re hoping it’s a way for new sellers and Terapeak beginners to get a feel for eBay research, before committing to the full-scale product.

Each free Terapeak Keywords search gives you:

20 suggested keywords, related to your search
Average, maximum and minimum prices for each suggested keyword
A self-refreshing suggestions list as you select additional keywords
The ability to build your title until you’ve exhausted all 55 characters
All data based on 100 recently-closed eBay listings

… because as all experienced eBay sellers (and Terapeak users!) should know, the first step to creating a great listing is coming up with a great title. And that means making all 55 characters count.

To add Terapeak Keywords to your Selling Manager Applications, visit the Selling applications directory. Remember, you must also be a Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro user.

Terapeak leads first wave of eBay Selling Manager Applications!

Some big news coming out of eBay this morning: today, August 17th, eBay unleashes its first stable of Selling Manager Applications… and guess who’s leading the charge!

Some quick background for those who need it: eBay Selling Manager Applications is a new platform initiated by eBay wherein users can subscribe to and access applications directly on the eBay site, via their My eBay page. Billing will be facilitated by eBay itself, while each application performs exactly as if it were hosted by its parent site. Below is a (blurry) shot of Terapeak working its magic under the Applications tab of a My eBay page:

The SMApps project has long been in the works, and Terapeak was thrilled to be selected last year as one of the first participants for this new platform. As you know, we’re extremely passionate about helping sellers with their eBay research, and landing directly on the eBay platform will open our application to many additional sellers.

For those of you who subscribe via the Terapeak.com site, rest assured that nothing will change with regards to your subscription or the way customer service and billing are handled. All that’s different is that Terapeak continues to grow, and with each step taken we’ll be better able to serve you!

eBay Selling Manager: Starring Terapeak!

If you’ve been following the Web 2.0 Expo going on in San Francisco this week, you’ve heard eBay’s big announcement: the Selling Manager platform is now allowing third-party developers to embed their applications directly on eBay.com.

Sound confusing? It’s really not. In fact, eBay has put together the following video overview of the Selling Manager service — and check out who stars in a leading role! That’s right, Terapeak!

We’re thrilled to have been such an active participant in the project’s development, and we look forward to seeing new shifts in the eBay landscape.

Finally, not to be outdone, Terapeak put together its own little video for the Expo — check it out!
